Shopworks, Inc., is an industrial design and retail consultancy that was founded in 1992 by the company’s President, Ms. Sharon Loeff. Ms. Loeff has been involved in every aspect of shopping center management, leasing, retailing, merchandising and design. Her shopping center career began in 1979 when Ms. Loeff operated a pushcart at Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, Massachusetts.
During her tenure in the Shopping Center/retail Industry she has owned and operated her own retail businesses, created and managed specialty retail programs for shopping center developers and launched many new retail concepts into the mall and airport venues. Additionally, Ms. Loeff has designed and sold over one hundred and twenty million dollars in fixtures and common area structures for shopping malls, airports, hotels and Casinos. Ms. Loeff teaches visual merchandising and merchandising and has created numerous industry manuals. Ms. Loeff is a frequent speaker and course instructor at industry conferences. She is a contributing writer and Advisory Board member of the trade magazine, Specialty Retail Report.
Ms. Loeff’s partner, Thomas Loeff is an industrial designer and engineer. He serves as Vice President for Shopworks, Inc. where his focus is on operations and technology. Mr. Loeff holds a Masters degree in Physics, is the holder of a number of design and utility patents that have been used to develop products, now in worldwide distribution. His inventions, (including the Gunvault Gunsafe product lines) have appeared in four major motion pictures, and his jewelry designs have flown on two NASA Shuttle Missions. Mr. Loeff has represented Firearms Industry manufacturing groups to the Consumer Products Safety Council and has vast experience in designing and manufacturing products domestically and offshore.
